What is Sculptra?

SCULPTRA WORKS WITH YOUR BODY TO HELP REBUILD LOST COLLAGEN

Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen—the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue—for results that can last up to two years.
  • Smile line: Between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), commonly called “smile lines”
  • Chin wrinkles: Appearance of wrinkles on the chin
  • Marionette lines: In the lines framing your mouth, also known as “marionette lines” or “laugh lines”
*Clinical study ended at 25 months. The most common side effects after initial treatment include injection site swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching and lumps. Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been reported.

Why Sculptra?

SCULPTRA ADDRESSES AN UNDERLYING CAUSE OF FACIAL AGING, NOT JUST THE SYMPTOMS

Not All Anti-Aging Treatments Are the Same:
  • Collagen creams: Collagen creams do not fully penetrate to the dermis, so most topical treatments are effective as moisturizers that briefly improve the skin’s appearance.
  • Collagen Supplements: When ingested, the digestive system breaks down collagen proteins and their effectiveness remains inconclusive.
  • Toxins: Toxins temporarily weaken muscles to minimize frown lines in the forehead. Results typically last a couple months.
  • Fillers: Works immediately upon injection to fill in lines, wrinkles and folds.

If you want to appear more youthful-looking — without appearing like you’ve had work done — then chances are Sculptra may be a good choice for you.

Results appear gradually and can last up to two years.

†Treatment regimen is typically three injections over the course of three or four months. Individual results and treatments sessions may vary. Clinical trial ended at 96 weeks (2 years).

As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles.

Sculptra works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.

As the Sculptra PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production.

Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra may stimulate collagen growth which helps to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds over time.

How Does Sculptra Work?

SLOW AND STEADY STRENGTH

Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments administered by a trained specialist.

The specialist injects treatment into the appropriate dermal plane where strands of collagen support your skin’s structure. Over time, Sculptra helps the body reproduce lost collagen. The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months.
